View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day

(The only thing I find remotely interesting about the Super Bowl is the possibility of seeing the Budweiser clydesdales. This time of year I use this picture as my desktop. It's from the old commercial where the horses are standing around waiting for the zebra to review a play.)

I drove home from Ohio yesterday rather than risk the chance of running into icy road conditions on Friday. Seems it was good move; trees and road signs along 90 east of Buffalo were still covered with frozen precip yesterday.

As it happened, I had a nice long visit with my mother, her friends and caregivers. After eight years, my mother is now the senior resident at Governor's Pointe, a small assisted living facility with 32 rooms. She's doing well despite her disabilities due to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis.

We didn't get out much this trip because of the weather (the forecasts were so very wrong) but we did have wonderful Aztec soup at La Fiesta and we had a chance to visit with the woman who's been running this wonderful, small restaurant for 30 years.

We had hoped to get out to see "Atonement" but settled instead for watching my copy of "Amazing Grace".

All tolled, I did a lot of sitting. I did get out and walk about 3 miles on Thursday and then, when the weather was so bad on Friday, I unwrapped my Leslie Sansone video and did the "3 Mile Weight Loss Walk". It was the perfect solution but I have to say I don't know how often I can listen to the 'music'. I guess once I get the gist of it I'll have to make a CD of real music that I like.

I gave up trying to keep up my food diary; with so many foods that weren't listed in the database it was pretty much by-guess-and-by-golly. I didn't do anything stupid but I ate more than I should have given the fact that I had so little physical activity.

I should go over to the park today but there's so much ice out there and I'm just so happy to be home... If it rains later in the week and I can't get to the park, maybe I'll finally get over to the Y.

I'm glad you liked the Leslie workout. You can absolutely make your own CD to play along with it. I do that sometimes and if I'm a little out of step, oh well. Lovely pictures of the horses!
