Sunday, Mar 2 2008 - Did Somebody Say Something About Sewing?
View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day
When we moved to NY almost twenty years ago, I stopped bicycling for a variety of reasons and because I didn't change my diet accordingly, I started gaining weight. I also stopped sewing and eventually put away all the clothes I'd made.
I can't believe that now I'm pulling out some of those clothes and looking at some of the fabric I still have.
I don't expect to wear all of the old size 8 (smaller than off-the-rack size 8) stuff because I would have to lose another 3 inches in my waist and I don't see that happening. But I should be able to wear some things including the very first tailored jacket I made in a tiny houndstooth.
And I still have so much beautiful fabric. And the bumper sticker my sister-in-law, who's a great seamstress, gave me years ago: "The one who dies with the most fabric wins!"
Beautiful blue sky this morning with warming temps. I can't pass up a day like this so I'll head over to the park in a bit and do some snowshoeing. I think I'll do one climb to Farmer's Hill and then stay on a relatively flat trail for most of the hike.
That should leave me in good shape for the party tonight where I have no idea what we'll be eating in celebration of the Ski Patrol's 50 years at Toggenberg.

Gorgeous jacket....welted pockets and lined...and leather button, I think! That's the kind of garment you can have if you make it yourself. Buying this quality would cost a fortune. I'm busy getting all my computer work out of the way to make room for a sewing project. I've really missed it. Enjoy the ski patrol party!
