A nice steady rain this morning, just the kind that will settle the soil and the seeds before any heavier rain comes along. A good start this week for the potager: favas, cime de rapa (five varieties in the hope that I'll find one that doesn't require blanching), peas, mesclun, arugala, mache, bunching onions, Easter egg radishes, spinach and beets and two more beds tilled and ready to sow.

I miss being able to get out there today but I can use the break after five days of working in the yard & garden. I've done a good job of pacing myself and that along with the fact that I'm in better shape physically has made for relatively few aches and pains. I'm a bit sore and I'm sure I have some swollen muscles but I've still lost some weight already this week.

I'm down to about a month left at CK. I'm cutting down on the unrecorded nibbles and measuring everything more carefully. I've already seen 137.6 once so I'm hoping to get below 135 before I'm done. I plan to do a lot of bicycling this summer, including a 60 mile trip to celebrate turning 60, so I should be able to get down to 130 and then work to maintain a 130-135 weight range. It's a plan...
