I was flat on my back in December 2006; I was using my 75 year-old friend's walker to get to the bathroom. Once I was on my feet again, pretty much all I did was cook and eat. I'm now trying to regain core strength and muscle tone in the hope that I won't be as severely disabled should I sustain another injury and to lose weight to take the strain off my joints.

Ouch!

I got an e-mail from CK this morning. No hearts, no flowers, just a notice that if I don't renew my account it will be disabled tomorrow. Cold.

I wasn't sure how to go with my last post but I had such a good laugh when I saw this this morning it just seemed perfect:

Hello?

I'd fully expected to hear something from CK about my membership renewal, maybe some kind of enticement, but somewhere along the line I stopped getting newsletters and then weigh in reminders. Now I get nothin'.

I'm planning to take some time this evening to catch up on some CK blogs and collect some e-mail addresses but then I guess that will be it.

The Last Week

One more week. My weight is back up a bit since my schedule's been thrown off but this week looks better and I expect my final weight posting to be below my original goal.



Meanwhile I'm amazed what I've been able to accomplish in the yard & garden this spring, in part because of the weather, but also because I'm so much more physically fit. It does pay off.

Non-Aerobic Exercise

It doesn't look like I'll be posting much of a weight loss this week. Even with the heavy lifting, the 'ditch-digging' and the tilling, the yard work and the gardening aren't really aerobic and don't burn the calories. I've known this from past summers when I didn't do enough hiking and/or biking but I guess I need to be reminded. With the end of this warm, dry weather pattern–and my overworked hand–I'll be back to the park next week.
