It's one of those times when you just have to drop a lot of things to deal with the matters at hand. One of the things that I've had to drop this week is the my time online and on CK. I'm hoping to soon have a chunk of time to catch up on blogs and all the little notes I have to pass along...

First snow day of the season and my first outing on snowshoes if only to get out to make trails to the bird feeders and pack down the snow under the spruce where I broadcast seed for the ground feeders, including this handsome fellow.
I don't think I'll make it to the park today (the county is requesting no unnecessary travel) but I'll get plenty of exercise shoveling. Right now I'm waiting for the repairman, who's supposed to replace the refrigerator fan today naturally, to call s...

We have several inches of accumulation between Friday night and last night and we'll be doing the first shoveling today. Of course CK doesn't even list snow shoveling so I went to Calorie Lab. While I was there I finally checked to see how my hiking calories have changed now that I'm hauling less of me up and down the hills and, damn, I've had to drop it from 6 to 5 calories per minute.
