Savoring

Friday, October 5th 2007

I'd hoped the Indians would win but never expected them to do it 3-12. It was a welcome distraction listening to the game last night and I'm still kind of dazed this morning. And what with the allergy fog it's just a damn good thing I'm not doing brain surgery on anyone today...

I posted my weigh-in at 139 even though I don't have a lot of confidence in it yet. I figured I might as well make it a banner day: the Indians clobber the Yankees and I break 140 (sort of)!

When I did my CK...

Fog

Thursday, October 4th 2007

I feel as though I'm in a fog. Yesterday was windy and my allergy symptoms have been awful. I went to the yoga/Pilates class yesterday morning but didn't have much energy and couldn't wait to get home and take out my contacts. I finally gave in and took a nap in the afternoon and the rest of the time I was just sort of dragging myself around. With so little physical activity I'm still bouncing around between 139 & 140 on the scales.

I'm hoping my trip to the park this morning will g...

Almost There

Tuesday, October 2nd 2007

Despite feeling dopey all day yesterday and not really moving with any vigor I flirted with 139 on the scales this morning; the first two times I got on the scales it was "139" and the third time "140" so I'll wait to see the low weight again before I post it. I don't post every change in my weight (I've actually been fluctuating between 140 and 141 the past couple of weeks) and I like to see a new low several times before I put it up.

The pollen forecast says "low...

October 1

The local peaches are done so I'm back to my toast/cheese/jam breakfast but I miss Bellwether Farms' fromage blanc. I just don't like the Vermont Butter & Cheese Company cheese nearly as much and their crème fraîche has an aftertaste I don't like at all but unfortunately the local supermarket, Wegman's, isn't carrying Bellwether Farms anymore. I don't like shipping stuff clear across the country if I can help it but after I pull out the last tub I have in the freezer I may just break dow...

Ash Trees

Sunday, September 30th 2007

It was one of those days when I would have been happy to spend the entire day at the park. The weather was, to my mind, perfect and it felt good to be back on the trails after only one hot and humid outing last week.

The trees at the park are fading to different shades of pale green and the ash trees are the first to show any real color. I love the fall color of the white ash and several years ago I moved a volunteer from the back of the property to the front where it's done well but it c...
