Trees

Wednesday, September 19th 2007

I made it to another yoga-Pilates class this morning. Knowing the routine, I followed along for the most part but skipped some of the exercises/positions that work muscles I'm strengthening & toning in other activities and spent the time instead working on muscles that really need it.

I read Miriam's blog about beech trees this morning and it reminded me that in planning replacements for the box elders out back I'd forgotten that I wanted to include a copper beech. My neighbors down t...

I Love Autumn

Tuesday, September 18th 2007

The weather is absolutely gorgeous in central New York and forecasted to continue for a week or more. The freshness of the air after the dry, stagnant conditions of the previous weeks has definitely revitalized me. Sunday, September 16th 2007

I hadn't been able to figure out what I was doing about dinner last night until I got to the fishmonger's about noon and saw the pompano that Rich had beautifully filleted. It was fabulous.

I can't say the same for the Barilla Plus penne that I tried for the first time last night. I thought it tasted like cooked breakfast cereal and had a grainy texture, none of the 'chewiness' I like in my pasta. The flavor wasn't too bad with the pesto but I can't see substituting it for artisan pici, ...

Moving Slowly

Saturday, September 15th 2007

I saw some movement on the scale this morning; I was beginning to think there was some kind of governor preventing it from reading anything below 142.

I was thinking about dinner out this evening but I'm so close to my CK goal that I'd really like to do everything I can this next week to drop the last two pounds. And with rain most of last night and the chilly temps today I don't think I'll be getting out on a bike today.
