Allergies

Thursday, August 16th 2007

Everyone I know is complaining about the pollen count and their allergy symptoms this week. I've been feeling like I'm living underwater; everything seems to take more effort and all my senses seem to be 'muffled'. I've been out to the park but my overall activity level has been pretty low the last few days.

The Deadline

Monday, August 13th 2007

A couple of days to decide whether or not to renew with CK 9 months early at the old rates. As of this moment I don't think so. I've just spent the last 15 minutes trying to upload a new photo. Phooey.

Brandywine

Sunday, August 12th 2007

The first Brandywine of the season, over one pound of diet-friendly goodness. With a good supply of wonderful homegrown tomatoes I should have no trouble sticking with it for the next few weeks.

My hike this morning was marred by the empty verio nest. A friend sent me an e-mail last night to tell me she found the nest empty Friday afternoon. I wasn't really surprised; it looked like an ill-conceived plan from the get-go. But this morning I swear I heard a healthy little begging call fro...
