In a world increasingly gone mad there's a bit of life-affirming joy to be found in placing an heirloom tomato seed in some dirt.
...even though two of the Burpee envelopes were labeled "origin Thailand" and "origin China".
On the other hand I also have some Italian seeds this year with everything written on the envelopes in Italian.

We watched FRONTLINE last night. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/badvoodoo/
The entire program was disturbing but the part that we found absolutely chilling was Sgt. Nunn advising his men to put loosened tourniquets on their legs in case they hit an IED. Then when one of their humvees does hit an IED they stand around all day in the scorching sun waiting for Kellogg Brown & Root before another platoon finally comes along and helps them.

The lease is signed but it will be a couple of months before the space is ready. There it is, in the old Bentley-Settle Building, right above our favorite micro brew pub, The Empire Brewing Co.

Fancy & Groucho have been doing aerial displays for a couple of weeks and Fancy has been observed checking the nest box but it's still early so I was surprised to see her spending so much time in the box on this chilly morning.
