A kind of rain dance in reverse.

We need more, but I'm grateful for what we've gotten so far in part because now I have an excuse not to go out today and wrestle with the tiller and the 40lb. bags of composted cow manure. I do hope to get out later and park myself on an upturned bucket to do some easy weeding. The first Gerald Darby iris blossom is open this morning.

In the Carolinas maybe? We really need some rain and I could use the excuse to take a break from the work in the yard & garden. I think I've been overdoing it and my feet need some time off.

The house is surrounded by evergreens and this time of year they cut loose with heavy, yellow pollen. It's actually pretty amazing but it means having to wait to put in screens and open windows until well into June if we don't want it everywhere in the house. Last night I left the window over the kitchen sink open a crack and this morning the counter was covered in pollen.

I'm amazed how many changes I've made in the past few weeks. I think taking on the CK program has given me a chance to restructure several aspects of my daily routine and now doing things differently has become a goal in itself. I think the more changes I can make now the better the chance that I'll stick with the diet and exercise program.
