View MARCYINCNY2's food & exercise for this day
One of my chores during my weekly stint at the food co-op yesterday morning was to restock the books and periodicals. One book that's been selling again lately is "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty. (Since most co-op members understand the problems with refined sugar I assume they're giving copies to other folks.)
Seeing the title made me think about how much better I feel since I've reduced my sugar consumption again. I absolutely have a more consistent level of energy and none of the mood swings I get when I eat too much sugar. And the longer I go without my sugar fix of choice, ice cream, the less I think about it.
It's a shame that since "Sugar Blues" was published in 1975 Americans have only increased their consumption of refined carbohydrates, their dependence on anti-depressants and the rate of type 2 diabetes.
Then there's this: "Can Your Diet Make You Happy?"
