Sunday, Nov 1 2009 - No Tricks, Few Treats
View MARCYINCNY2's food & exercise for this day
If I'm going to be left with a pound of something, Bit-o-Honey is a good choice. Our Halloween traffic really dropped off this year and the kids who came by were probably here for the last time. The neighborhood is in transition that way.
The season has really shifted here. The trees are looking bare and now, of course, it will dark by 5pm. Everything about the season is saying "comfort food", the sort of calorie-dense food that poses such a challenge to dieters.
I got out on my town bike once last week and I may be able to ride again this week but that will probably be it for the year.
The past two years this has been the time of year when I start gaining a few pounds because I'm just not careful about decreasing my calories to compensate for decrease in physical activity. That and the fact that I'm not eating food from the garden and other local, seasonal sources.
The last time I started CK in May and it was relatively easy to lose because I was routinely increasing my physical activity. I'm feeling confident about losing the ten pounds before Thanksgiving (getting me back to where I was this time last year) but I'm still going to have to find something to do like Zumba to get me through the winter.

the falling back is the most depressing day of the year IMO. It gets dark so early. I'm with you- lawns are covered with leaves and everyone was out raking. do you have some space in front of your TV? a set of workout videos might be a good way to go
:y: I like Ellen Barrett and all things Jillian Michaels. One's too soulful and easy, one's to tough and mean, but combined it's a nice workout
