View MARCYINCNY2's food & exercise for this day
I'm thankful to be home. I will be thankful next year if I don't have to spend Thanksgiving in Ohio. It's entirely possible that my sister-in-law, who has gained even more weight during the past year, will not be healthy enough to host a family gathering.
7 adults:
1 medically obese, 2 with BMIs at least 29, 2 overweight, 2 with BMIs below 25.
2 pumpkin pies
1 mincemeat pie
1 apple pie
1 large apple-walnut bundt cake
When we left yesterday most of the pie and cake was gone, roughly 30 servings consumed primarily by the three individuals with the highest BMI's over a period of two days. It's about as much fun as sitting around watching people shoot up.

Your analogy to drug use is apt. Sadly the more people overeat, the more the seem to be capable of overeating. (I speak from experience.) Once mindfulness set is, the past bad behavior seems hard to fathom. Hopefully the people you write about will wake up and take steps toward better health. Enjoy your weekend at home!

Oh, my. That's absolutely incredible. And... disgusting. And... I don't really have words for it. I suppose in a way it's motivational, too; you can *see* their behavior and be glad you don't share it, and it helps keep focus on your goals... I'm REALLY glad you survived!

Marcy, I hear you! I'm afraid Texas seems to still have a lot of obese people who love to eat too, but when I used to visit Ohio it seemed to me they came in a close second. Also the notion of healthy eating didn't seem to have struck this state and my in-laws there and their friends all loved their food deep fried and heavily battered. Oh well. I suppose we all choose our own path and we all end up at the same place anyway. You take care, Cheryl52
