My Own Denial

Monday, November 30th 2009

I'm skipping my weigh-in today. I'm up one pound but this week I have no distractions and I know I'll be back down and then some next week. As I told Kat, it's nice to be in a place where I'm not stressing a bump on the scales, where I'm calm and focused on slipping into my bicycle shorts and jumping on my road bike in May.

I've appreciated the comments regarding my sister-in-law; they've helped me accept the fact that she may never be able to turn things around. There is however something ...

To Explain

Sunday, November 29th 2009

I kept thinking about my blog entry yesterday, how I'd written it out of frustration and how it might seem unkind without a larger context. I went back to delete it but found it was a bit too late to do that.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday, November 23rd 2009

I'm pretty much in a panic. I've probably left too many things to do today before we leave tomorrow. This morning I'm doing my stint at the Food Bank to make up for not working Thursday, then I'll do a short loop at the park before I come home to stuff the pumpkin, bake the cookies and pack. I know it's not much compared to what others have to do or even what I used to do but nowadays it seems like more than enough.

A Miracle

Friday, November 20th 2009

What could be better than losing weight myself? I would absolutely be happier to see The Mister lose weight.

The Mister is joining the downtown YMCA! He hasn't actually signed up yet but he's told enough people that he can't back out now. He's been talking about doing something like this for twenty years. I'm also mighty glad I didn't buy him a treadmill last week.
