I came to realize that wearing my old baggy clothes wasn't helpful in maintaining my weight loss. It was just too easy to regain a few pounds, then a few more, when it didn't make a big difference in what I could wear.

This past year I've purchased and made several pairs of new, well-fitted slacks and jeans and I think they really are a helpful reminder of where I am weight-wise.

I am however sticking with my heavy cotton sweats for round-the-house in the cooler weather. I'm just happy to have found they're still available and that I can add a few new pairs to my collection, to go with my Irish cardigans and my wool clogs. Not much fashion but lots of toasty warmth.

I was wondering where you went.

We have very similar taste so I must disagree on ''not much fashion.'' =D I love cable sweaters and sweatpants (and sweatshirts). They make me feel like I felt as a kid wearing flannel pj's, all warm and cozy.

You should make the coat. I think I could wear it if I shortened it to thigh length, or thereabout. The way they are doing sizing these days, size 12 is probably the new size 6 or 8.

The pants look great! I don't know when I am going to find time to sew (haven't for years, probably even decades, except for mending), but I recently bought a book on fitting pants (Pat Palmer). As for the clogs, have you seen the Merrell's at Zappos? That's what I bought and wore last winter when I could not find my suede Columbia slip-ons (I have two old pair and one new which I am hoarding since they are no longer made). :teeth2:
