I wonder how long it will be today before I actually feel hungry...
Last night was wonderful, every mouthful worth the calories. Each course was a 'small plate' so by the end of the evening we were full but not uncomfortably so. The big surprises were the roasted root vegetables that accompanied the quail and the mashed parsnips that were served with the short ribs. Normally seeing a nice drop on the scales this morning would motivate me to hit my all my targets for the next few days but this is BEER WEEK! I've decided that since life is short and the future uncertain in the best of times and even more so now, I'm going to a Beer Week event this evening.

If I'm going to be left with a pound of something, Bit-o-Honey is a good choice. Our Halloween traffic really dropped off this year and the kids who came by were probably here for the last time. The neighborhood is in transition that way.
The season has really shifted here. The trees are looking bare and now, of course, it will dark by 5pm. Everything about the season is saying "comfort food", the sort of calorie-dense food that poses such a challenge to dieters.

Well thank you Mr. Lee. Curtis Lee pitched a fabulous game in that crumbling monument to excess and ego that is the NEW Yankee Stadium. Did I do my happy dance? Yes I did.
The game was a welcome distraction particularly because I've been plagued the past couple of days by two mind worms.

I decided to purchase a year's membership rather than go month-by-month. I figured if I was going to be here at least through the winter and spring I'd be paying as much as the full year.
One more thing that sabotaged me after my first year at CK was my expectation, an unrealistic one as it turns out, that my weight loss success was going to inspire others to get in shape and thereby reinforce my own effort.
