I really need to get back to the program. This week I haven't even been logging because it seems absurd to post my diary when it includes so much cake. I did indeed bake a cake. And then another one. It's a slippery slope.

I made the Green & Black's version first. The taste was fabulous but it came out with a dense layer on the bottom. My baking powder was suspect but in all the confusion I'm not sure I turned the oven setting from "preheat" to "bake". I was ready to...

Digging Out

Record snowfall yesterday. We got all of the 22.4 inches reported for our area. I shoveled the first half in two passes yesterday until The Mister came home and fired up the old Gravely for the first time this winter to deal with the end of the drive where the DOT plows push the snow. He's out there this morning while I cook oats and prepare to snowshoe out to the feeders.


(The pile in the center of the driveway is where I heave most of the snow when I shovel.)...

My New Favorite Treat

For the past few weeks I've been MIA as far as CK is concerned. I've been keeping up on several blogs but I haven't been commenting or posting much myself. I blame it all on Zumba.
