Wednesday, Jul 18 2007 - The Scale Moved Today!

View MERCYME's food & exercise for this day

I'm sooooo happy, the scale moved in the "minus" direction today, one pound. I've been discouraged over the past two weeks, cuz everytime I stepped on the scale, the scale was reading actually "more" than when I first weighed in. I'm thinking that my body is still traumatized from quitting smoking and trying to adjust to that. Afterall, nicotine is a stimulant, and my body is not getting that drug anymore, so I'm chalking it up to that, because overall, I'm doing excellent on my calories and exercising.

I've been brisk walking / jogging on my treadmill for the past month, so I thought I'd try to work in a little Strength Training. Tonight was my first 60 min. class. I tried to take it easy, first go around, but did push myself to do my personal best. I think I might be a little sore tomorrow, but that's okay.

Looking in those full-length mirrors in class.....ugh, I'm fat! Okay, maybe not fat, but definitely chubby and flabby. I can't wait to start seeing some firming results in the coming weeks.

I'm really having fun on Calorie King and becoming more aware of the foods I'm eating. I think I may have sparked my husband's interest too....Not to join Calorie King (cuz, it's just not his thing), but he's a avid reader and loves fitness. So, he's gotten a few books from the library (Body Type Diets and SuperFoods) and has begun studying them. I have too....and found the Body Type Diets particularly interesting. I'm an Adrenal body type (I think). In their meal plans, they have one day day a week (or bi monthly) cleansing days, where you eat just fruits or vegetables all day. I think I might try to follow their recommended meal plan for one week, and see how I feel. It's worth a shot.
