Did you ever have one of those moments where you've heard a particular idea before, but it didn't sink in, until you've heard it for the 100th time? I have these moments allot, last night in particular.
Last night I was talking with my husband, saying that I was going to be disappointed in today's weigh in. That I just KNEW I wasn't going to be down on the scale.

And what did my husband say? "Remember, how you're eating and exercising is lifelong....you're not on a diet to lose weight. You're living a healthy life. Losing weight is a by-product of that. You're building muscle, losing fat. It's going to take a LOT of time, if you do it right."
Okay, I've heard all of that before but why did it hit me with such force last night? I don't know. But ya know something? He's absolutely, 110% correct! I need to take the scale numbers and measurements as "bonuses" when they move downward...but they CANNOT be the focus for the week. Did I have a good week....Overall, I have to say YES.
So, for anyone reading this....Don't beat yourself up if you're trying to lose weight, and the scale and measurements didn't budget this week. Focus the positive changes you've made to your life. This is forever folks. Not just to lose 10 - 20 - 30 lbs. for some "event" or ending point.
