View MIDDLEROAD's food & exercise for this day

Today I am moving on. :hi: My next goal is the 5% which I only have 2 lbs to lose to get to. My reward is a new swimming suit. I am pretty confident that I can meet this goal! :thumbu2: Then downward to the next goal of fitting into my 22's by the end of September. I really like having these goals. I used to set weight goals only, but am finding that having various goals helps me stay motivated. The numbers sometimes are disappointing, you worry about ever little pound. But having a goal about fitting into something, achieving a new ability, a percentage or even just getting a reward is more motivating. I am having trouble finding little achievements for myself though. I tend to set my goals too high and don't get enough satisfaction in the short term. LOL. I am an instant gratification person! :$

I set a goal of running for 5 minutes on the tread mill! That is way over my reach at this point. I can do 1/2 minute, maybe 45 seconds. Maybe I should set it for running 1 minute. Then 2 minutes..... Also, I set a goal of lowering my morning blood sugar to 100. Although my blood sugar has been going down, this is still a pretty big stretch. Maybe I'll revise it to 125, or even 135. That would be more attainable in the short run.

I set a goal for stretching out my calories even over the day. I usually take in more calories at dinner than other meals. But I am thinking that this too is a little bit high of an expectation. Dinner is the time that my husband and I sit together and enjoy our meal. It is a time when I often have my children over or we have a get-together. I need those calories for those times.

Today is my husbands 70th birthday. :music2: (No I'm not that old!) We are celebrating at his favorite bar and grill. :rock1: I know I can't control myself if I order anything but the salad, so that is what I will have. I brought a lunch other than salad for that reason. If I have 2 salads in a day for my main course, I feel deprived. So I have a wrap for lunch with some cucumbers on the side and fruit.

I think I'll be okay!!!! Yeah for planning! :laugh5:

Hi, Diane!

Enjoy celebrating your hubby's B-day! It sounds like you have a great plan in place. I agree--yeah for planning!!

Incrementally increasing running by 30 seconds or a minute is definitely the way to go! You should check out couch-to-5-K programs online. They suggest exactly what you've described.

Have a great day!
