View MIDDLEROAD's food & exercise for this day
Thanksgiving was so
so. Food was good, family behaved themselves. It was a lot of work though. Last week I started out eating well, and then lost it as Thanksgiving approached. I had family over and cooked everything. I did okay through the dinner but then later I ate too much dessert, too many nuts and too much alcohol. I did the gym on Friday but then ate out also. Those nuts hung around all weekend and my hand just kept going in that can
.
Saturday I went on a nice long hike in the woods with my hubby and dog. (My girls were both gone for the weekend.) Then we went to a movie, Morning Glory. It was great and I didnt have popcorn! (Unfortunately I filled up on nuts before I went, but finished them up so they are gone, gone, gone.) I tried to make up for the bad stuff by only having turkey soup for dinner. But I had a few light beers with it. Hmmmmmmm
.
I took care of my mom for about 6 hours on Sunday and I think it just kind of depressed me. She is getting so bad. It was a nice day and I would have liked to be outside. I made cookies, because I wanted to, and also because it was a good activity to do with her there. She cant really help, but I talk about it as I go and she understands and seems to like it. She especially likes eating the finished product. So did I!!!! Then hubby and I went to a wake and out to eat afterward. Mexican. Need I say more? I was having a craving for Mexican and I ate everything on my plate (which I dont usually do.) I think I am having some issues here

I think once we slip it is so easy to keep on the slide... we take that extra bite, drink etc...
Focus on what you are eating and that will help... Have some fruit etc.. find a few things to help fuel ya then each day we will get back on to the track we need to be on.

Dealing with your aging mother and also a wake plus thanksgiving. Be kind to yourself and start anew tomorrow. Or..right now.
