View MIDDLEROAD's food & exercise for this day

I am working on "coming back". I am still in pain, but coming to terms with it.... Better some days.... Exercise, in fact, any movement makes it worse, but I'm just trying to deal with it. I am realizing, once again, that diet is the most important part of losing weight. Exercise alone doesn't do it. My daughter sent me an article about a small study done, where people got rid of their type 2 diabetes by eating 600 calories a day for a time. They totally got rid of it and it didn't come back! The study was based on the results of people going through gastric surgeries, who are on very small amount of food after the surgery. Their diabetes completely disappears. Supposedly the fat on the pancreas disappears and then their pancreas starts producing insulin again. Weird. Maybe that's why fasting has been so popular throughout the ages. It puts everything right.....

I am afraid I cannot do that 600 calories or fast, but it inspired me to watch my calories and enter in my diary. I can do this..... I am not giving up. Thanks for the encouragement, Nancey.

Though the diabetes "goes away" when I talked to my doctor (when I was concidering the surgery) he told me it was more like the disease would be in remission. It's still there. Ugh!

I tried the 600 calorie thing and I was ready to start to eat furniature! :-D
