A friend of mine has had pretty good luck with the 'Beach Body'/p90/p90x series. He and his wife both do the exercise together and have done well. We've talked about it a few times, but I decided to give it a try - walking isn't always an attractive option during the Winter months.

He recommend starting with the p90 series. The p90x series is VERY intense and not something to just start doing. The p90 series is 30 minute videos that you alternate between cardio/weights - you just need dumb bells and that's about it. The p90x series is an hour video + a 15 minute video.

My first 'official' week will be next week, but I started last night to go through them and start with the sore-ness. I like the video format quite a bit. There's a timer on the screen that at first I thought was hokey, but it's pretty nice, because I can see a finite time until the next section, which helps me stay on task. Which, I have difficulty doing with the tae bo videos I was doing - I end up getting bored, so I make myself do them for 10 minutes, then go get a drink, and continue on.

The p90 series are 90-day programs, so that puts me into Jan when it will be complete - it'll be interesting to see if I can keep up with it through the holidays.
