View MORTINI's food & exercise for this day
Been kind of bleh lately. Dunno what's going on. I think I've been watching too much M*A*S*H. I've been watching all of the episodes, beginning of the series to the end. I'm about 3/4 through season 7 right now. Only 5 (or 6) seasons to go!
One thing that I find interesting about watching old shows is how they do now-taboo things. Like in the Andy Griffiths show, one of the characters was the town drunk. Who was just a 'silly' character. Whereas now, alcoholism is generally treated much more seriously. In mash, there's a few episodes where they're drinking whiskey while driving.
It's kind of interesting watching the various changes in format. In one season, for a few episodes, there was a guy on a guitar singing songs. Then they introduced the serious laugh track.
I'm kind of fascinated by the Radar character. He was a pretty big part of the plots in the first 4-5 seasons, then for some reason they decided to turn him into a little boy and he's hardly in the episodes. He has no character development after about season 4. Granted, Radar always had the boy-ish qualities, but then they made him stop drinking, and much more 'young' story lines revolve around him.
On the other hand, Klinger has quite a background built for him at the same time that they're phasing Radar out. There's almost always a sub-plot for one of Klinger's antics to get out of the army.
I also came to the realization last night that Major Houlihan is a pretty terrible officer. In a number of episodes, they need to send a nurse with a doctor to do something dangerous - and she sends herself. The whole point of the chain of command is to make it so this doesn't happen (Even if that isn't the official reason).
It's been snowy today, so no c25k tonight. There's 'team building' tomorrow night, which I'll most likely go to, so no c25k tomorrow night. Being social tomorrow night would be probably better for me than exercising. Might help with the bleh's.

Oh, and get out and socialize! Maybe you'll meet a "special" person

I haven't watched much MASH, but the episodes I've caught all involve a lot of Klinger running around in women's clothes. Which is hilarious. I had never thought about the fact that in the past they did things that are now taboo... I've mostly noticed that we do a lot now that was VERY taboo back then (sexual references being the most obvious, of course) but looking at in the reverse is true also.
