View MORTINI's food & exercise for this day

Sitting here waiting for my groceries to arrive. I have a salmon fillet on the way, and I think, stuff to make this parchment salmon thing I made before, but i need some different herbs. One thing I found about the place I order from - I don't like their fresh herbs very much. Not sure what they do with them, but they usually tend to end up getting bruised or just seemingly mis-treate. So, I just buy them locally. It's really not that big of a deal. But, I am out of parchment paper, so I may have to improvise as I don't know if my nearby grocery store will have it or not.

I used a hot pad on my shin last night to see what that would do. It seems slightly better, not a lot better, but a little. I guess I'm not going to exercise until I can get this under control - kind of frustrating. I imagine there are exercises i could do, but it'd only be upper body, i don't really want to make this last longer than it has to. And, maybe I'm using it as an excuse, too, to take a slight break.

However, I've been doing good on loosing at a decent rate again. I went down 2lbs this week, so now I'm 9lbs away from my goal weight. I don't know if this is luck, or something else i'm doing, or what, but seemingly cutting out soda is really making a difference. The last soda I had was on Monday - the week before that, I only had soda with lunch. Other than that, my eating and exercise is about the same as it was all through December, when I wasn't really loosing weight. But, who knows.

well, that's where it gets a bit more complex, amanda. there's different types of 'unix' - there's actual entire family trees available of all the different types over the years. (Unix has been around since 1970 or so). The clever naming scheme of Ubuntu Linux is their own, different types of unix do it differently. (Prior to Unix, there was an operating system called 'Multics', to which, someone thought that Eunuch was a pun, and thus begat Unix)

OK, here's what you need to do for shin splints...when you are sitting down in your office chair, tap your toes on the floor just bending your ankle and tap your toes, it stretches out your shins...and also you can put your heel on the floor and pull your toes up toward your shins, it stretches too...it helps...and you can always ride a stationery bike instead of walking...that was the reason I bought mine...because I had shin splints! They will get better and Ibuprofen helps with the pain! Actually I always take two advil before I take a walk, and voila...I don't get the pain anymore!!!! Hope that helps Timmy!

Oh, and thanks for the Unix explanation. I was wondering if they were related considering the similarity in their names. Does Unix use clever bird names for their versions, like Hardy Heron? :talking:

Great job on losing :thumbu2: It seems that weight loss is a lot like other areas of life. What you want doesn't come/happen until you stop focusing on it. Yummm salmon :tongue8:
