View MORTINI's food & exercise for this day
Today, walking up to work, I saw that a bunch of blocks were closed. It took me reading a sign to realize it's for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. It ends on 86th, and the blocks are where the participants and floats end up so they can tear down.
I did p90x chest & back last night. It went pretty well overall. I took it slow, didn't push myself, because I didn't know the full workout. Next time I do this particular workout, I'll push it more. I really need to get more weight for my dumbbells, though. I'm going to get a set of adjustable ones on Friday, they've just been outside of my budget for awhile. They'll allow me to go up to 50lbs, which I have a feeling won't be enough soon enough, but works fine for now. There's an addition to them that can be purchased to take the weight up to 90 lbs, and then up to 125. I suspect by end of p90x, I'll be well into the 90 lb set for some lifts, but not sure if I'll need the 125 addition.
Doing the low carb thing for p90x phase 1. It's going better than I expected so far. Granted, my calories are near 3,000 each day, but I'm exercising that all off, so I actually got a green check yesterday. I never get them because I don't eat my exercise calories back, generally. However, while I was still doing p90, i started to notice eating most of them back was yielding more weight loss.
I also got to bed at a decent time last night. I started my workout at 7:30, was done around 8:45, relaxed a bit, and went to bed at 10. Read for about 30 minutes and then fell asleep. I woke up before the alarm clock again, but was up at 6 to make my lunch and get showered and eat breakfast before I leave for work. I need to eat breakfast before I make my lunch, though, I was a bit too hungry after.
Thinking a lot about rollerblading to work lately. I think I'm going to go after this more aggressively. On Saturday, I'm going to get a helmet and try to do the loop in the park. I'm going to practice again on Wednesday after work. I think I'm far enough along that I just need to do more of it overall to really get good at it. I might do a modified loop on Saturday, though, there's two hills that kind of scare me - one's downhill, and I'm concerned about speed & going too fast, and the other is uphill, which is just basic strength stuff. I might do 1/2 the loop which has some nice smaller hills a few times just to get better at it.
