View MORTINI's food & exercise for this day

Finally ran day 3 of week 8 for c25k. Wasn't as fast as I was doing, but it's the first time I've ran in a week and a half, so I suspect that had something to do with it. The first half went really really well, but I was dogging it on the second half. Too fast on the first half, i guess. I get really uncomfortable when I run too slow, though, it just feels like it's more work to run slower.

I made these almond meal pancakes this morning:

It's a basic 'quickbread' recipe that can easily be modified to make something like biscuits or something like pancakes just by changing things slightly. I was pretty happy as the pancakes actually turned out like pancakes. Over the weekend, I made another version of them:

But, these were *really* dense and not that much fun to eat.

I've been working on doing the low carb diet thing again for p90x (and, i suppose for progression into the primal diet). I'm not in ketosis yet, but after doing some reading last night, I guess it takes 3-5 days for your body to use up the glucose that's stored in your liver and start burning protein instead of carbs. Ketosis is the process of which your liver starts to use protein to make fuel for the body instead of using carbohydrates. When in ketosis, there's more ketones in your body, and more get passed into your urine, so there's tests for this. Once your liver has turned protein into fuel, it can't be used for anything else, and if it's not used, it's turned into waste.

I did 91.6 miles for exercise total last month. Not too bad, considering I was pretty sick all of last week. If it hadn't been for that, I would have been around 110 miles.
