Stupid colds.

Saturday, I was doing just swell. Was having a really constructive day, went to the farmer's market in the morning, then went & ran some other errands. Came back, and decided to nap. Slept for ~3 hours, woke up, and did p90x chest & back and about 2/3 of the ab ripper x. Then I couldn't sleep, and was up until about 2am. Right before I went to bed I started having a serious cough.

Foo.

did c25k this morning, ran 2.99 miles in 28 minutes. .01 miles better than on wednesday morning, but I walked some of it. I think I'm going to do a heavily-modified Galloway-style run - his method is ~3:1, run 3, walk 1, for these shorter runs, I think walking for less will be fine for me. This morning, I walked for 2 sets of 15 seconds and one for 30 seconds, and my time was slightly faster than Wednesday morning. yay. it's an off night tonight. most of my body hurts, so this is a good thing. i have tomorrow off, and I'm going to go get new dumbbells, and depending on how long that takes, get helmet for rollerblading, and a yoga mat. Really need a mat.

i've been doing really well with sleep this week. Starting p90x around 7:30 each night, finished by 8:30. I've been going to bed at 10, and asleep by 10:30, so that means by 6, i'm getting 7.5 hours of sleep. Which is pretty nice. Reading before tryin...

I had a really good run this morning. On my heart rate monitor, it has a multitude of things that you can look at when running. There's a 'ghost runner' that you can set up to a given speed, and you can work on maintaining that pace. This morning was the first time I was able to figure out how to set it up properly (pace is notated in several different ways, mile/minute, mile/hour minute/mile, i wasn't sure which it was). I used it, and ran a pretty brisk pace. I'm not sure if it was that or not...

Today, walking up to work, I saw that a bunch of blocks were closed. It took me reading a sign to realize it's for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. It ends on 86th, and the blocks are where the participants and floats end up so they can tear down.

I did p90x chest & back last night. It went pretty well overall. I took it slow, didn't push myself, because I didn't know the full workout. Next time I do this particular workout, I'll push it more. I really need to get more weight for my dumbbe...
