I have today off for president's day. My work gives kind of an eclectic mix of days off for some reason. Today's one of the days, but there's other federal holidays that we don't get off. I think it's largely tied to the fact that we have 28 days/year of vacation time to use. So, I'm sitting here, waiting for UPS to show up with my rice cooker & meat grinder. Had cooking class today. The chef-instructor said that today's class was the roughest one - I can see why. Each group had to cook 2 chickens, make chicken stock, some rices, a vinaigrette for salad and a desert. It's a lot to make, and the chickens have to be done in a certain way because of the cooking time involved. The instructor tries to make it so that he's showing some restaurant tricks to make things faster, or work better if you're doing food for a party, but sometimes, people don't get ...

feeling better today finally. didn't walk to work this morning - well, not the entire distance. walked from 86th up, which is 7 blocks up and 3 blocks across - maybe 3/4 mile.

I ordered a rice cooker & a meat grinder last night. The rice cooker has a timer on it, which will be handy, and I've been thinking about making sausage for awhile. Plus, ground turkey is $1 more a pound than non-ground, so I can use it there. I think 'sausage' is probably a bad label for what I want to make, sinc...

finally feeling better. well, i at least don't feel like death in the morning. for some reason with this cold, I feel worse in the morning than in the evening. I think it's because it's mostly a head cold and i get all dried out while I sleep.

Have a cold. Again. Missed Monday & Tuesday from work because of it.

Was looking at p90x stuff yesterday afternoon. My p90 keeps dragging on as I keep getting sick, trying to do 12 weeks of doing p90 4+ days. I'm that when I'm done with my cooking class (in 4 weeks) starting with p90x. There's a fitness test with p90x, and I'm good on most of the stuff I know for sure, but not all of it.

I need to get some more weights for my dumbbells and a few resistance bands for p90x specifical...
