Thursday, Jan 10 2008 - Losing weight on an insulin pump
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Well, I knew I would eventually have this problem, but I think I need to get my pump rates adjusted. I stared the pump in June and since then lost 34 pounds. The past several weeks I have been having constant problems with low blood sugars and basal rates that are out of proportion to my boluses. I mention all this because I think this is slowing down my weight loss. I don't know if anyone else has experience in this area. I've been told I need to give my diabetic rep
more numbers before they can come to a definite conclusions. I would like to hear from other people on the insulin pump who are loosing weight and see what their experience is.
Today I finally got to make those salmon patties. I uses unsweetened soy milk instead of milk in them and you couldn't even tell the difference. Soy milk has been a life saver for me ever since I found out I built up an allergy to dairy products. My only pet peeve is there no low cal soy yogurt out there.(Rats! I just discovered my talking dictionary doesn't talk any more!) Anyway, going on sot products lowered my cholesterol 40 points and got me to start my diet!Till tomorrow

Hi Lory,
:cross2:
I would definitely talk to your rep or your doctor about this issue.Your insulin levels would definitely effect your weight. It sounds like you are doing everything right and staying on program.Just hang in there until you have a better idea of what is going on.
