Thursday, Jan 17 2008 - Temptation in small forms
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Temptation comes in little forms such as the treats that you have to prepare for the kids in the afternoon. Then there is believe it or not the little leftovers on the plates as you are cleaning off the night dishes. For me, its LITTLE MARSHMALLOWS that I GIVE my dogs every night in order to get them to take their medicine. It is so easy to plop one of those little burgers into my mouth without thinking about it. Before long one becomes two, two becomes three and I have a problem called TEMPTATION! The battle has begun. Another one I must conquer. I will let you know if I succeed tonight to keep a marshmallow from my mouth.
(they are the little ones thankfully)
For those who like salad dressing Walden Farms has dressings that are ok. I like their Thousand Island and French. You can also send off for packets to keep in your wallet or purse to take out with you. The good thing is that they have 0 calories and 0 carbs! I don't recommend their other products. I thought their other products didn't taste to good. Look them up on the web if you can't find them in a store near you.

Now for the follow up on my quest to get my blood sugar issues resolved...my rep wants me to take 10 readings a day! OUCH.No fun I say, but necessary. Now the even harder part, I can not use my temporary basal function to keep me from having low bgs. In order to give her more readings I must remain on the function I am on now!!!!!!

My ratio is off too, so I'm headed to more extra calories. This is where I used to give up and just go into a binge.Well at least I know the 15 gram rule that should , but in past times it has acted as a trigger or excuse to eat more than I should. As the Iron Chef says " let the battle begin!"

Hi Lory!!!!
:love:I am so sorry you have all this stuff to deal with,it is frustrating enough to try and lose but with your other issues it makes it even harder. You WILL NOT throw in the towel so easily this time
:nono5:You have worked very hard and it is not for nothing, you will see that.Keep pushing ahead;even if you go three steps forward and two steps back you will still be moving ahead, just slower.I hope your rep can get these numbers under control and your sugar levels balanced.I hope you can stop testing 10 times a day very soon.
:cry2:Have a great day today Lory!!

Here is a BIG virtual hug for you sweetie!!!!!

Yay!! Cheers to you Moughi! I applaud your victory over the marshmallows - and let me just say that I have found a true and profound connection with you, feeder of marshmallows to her dogs.
Dogs were placed on this Earth to be spoiled rotten rotten rotten!
My picture is the love of my life, Sassy, who, sadly, died almost two years ago (I'm still not quite ready for another, but almost! - She was at the end of a long cancer battle - and was quite ready to go at the end of it all) so I'm very appreciative of all people who lavish affection and love on their doggies.
Keep up the good work, by the way!
