I lose slowly, maybe a pound a week, or slower. So, yesterday when I asked everyone how do they feel when they loose weight, not only meant what are they most looking forward to, but how do you feel when you lose that one pound. Some people feel disappointment and failure. I feel victory and relief that I didn't go the other way. Slowly but surely is my motto. I know it can be depressing to lose that slowly when on TV you watch shows where the contestants lose 10 pounds in one week, but that's...

New Numbers

Yippee!My new numbers are coming in from my recent pump adjustment. They are all in the 100's. My doc may still consider that low, but it's better than the 80's and 60's I had been dealing with for the past month. So far today I have had no lows and feel great. Tomorrow I'll be able to go to the gym and test myself out.
I just got my copy of " Diabetic Cooking" in. A lot of yummy recipes and easy to fix that will fit into the diet. That's what is good about diabetic recipes, they ...

I've been meditating today on what it means to be committed and to take responsibility for my actions concerning my weight gain. Oh I have good excuses for why I gained my weight in the first place: predisone, thyroid disease, insulin, depression, chronic pain, a daughter who went wild on me for a while before coming to her senses,these are only a few of life's problems I have ate myself through. pain meds

Take away the vicoden and morphine doc. I'm ready to give it up after 20 years of being dependent upon pain meds for chronic pain. The doc said, "great, I'll wean you off gently and we'll continue with the steroid injections and exercises." That was the start of a brand new life for me one year ago today. fried okra and other things

I can't believe he brought home okra and asked if I would fry it up for tonights dinner. No matter how I tried to figure it into my days plan, it would not fit into days a lotted calories.
