Today was the first time I ever got up early and went to the gym. I just had to see if I could get back on the treadmill without hurting. Actually walked for 20 min. at 1.5 speed and felt like I could have kept going if it wasn't for the fact that all week I have been having trouble with my blood sugar levels being low. I've been trying to figure out what to eat before or during a workout to keep from having lows and not build up to many calories. Rainy days an Fridays is that how the song began? Today's PT session went off great. My formula of apple juice and water kept my blood sugar up as the new adjustments on my pump. The weather here is cold and wet which did make it hard to get these old muscles going though. I was able to walk on the treadmill at 1.5 speed for over 10 minutes without any pain. This is good. Today I started reading the Ck university motivation section. It asked me what is your motivation my diet. Well, it's not so I can get into smaller clothes although that would be nice. It's not that I would even look better, that would be better too. For me it's a health issue. I simply want to feel better and be healthier. I want to be able to walk ten years from now. Yea for answers! I just talked to my medtronics rep and she thinks she has the answer to what has been going on with my blood sugar. right now I am adjusting my ratio to carbohydrates number and one of my basal numbers. We'll see if this helps. I'm thankful that another ck diabetic shared with me what she does before exercise on her pump because I also have the same problem with exercise and having low blood sugars during and after exercise.
