Today is a beautiful day so I decided to walk the husband. That's right everyone, you heard me right. Instead of taking the dogs for a walk I thought I would ask my husband along. He lasted 15 minutes at a very slow pace. The dogs beat him out. After ten he wanted to go home. Granted, his ankle hurt him and my new MBT shoes were hurting my legs a little, but I felt like I was walking him. "I got my mother back ", were the words my daughter said to me when she saw me at lunch the other day. My daughter, Beka, had not seen me in six weeks or since her engagement to her fiance'. We all know what it is to plateau in a diet physically, but how about mentally. I think these past two weeks I have experience just that. I went through the high of changing out my wardrobe for the first time. Then there has been all the wonderful medical results of lowering my weight so far; the lower cholesterol, lower triglycerides, lower blood sugars, smaller feet, less fat around the stomach thus less weight on the back... I have decided that I am a protein girl when it comes to feeling full. I have tried it both ways. A little protein with each meal and snack helps to satisfy my hunger more than fiber. This could be because of my diabetes too. If I eat too many carbs, I start craving them. When I get a carb craving, I often have a problem with my blood sugar. I do try to make what little carbs I do eat be the most nutritious ones. ( except for the occasional piece of candy

The past two weeks of my diet I have been hungry and going over my recommend calorie count every other day or so. When I weighed in today I didn't gain anything, but I didn't lose either. I'm not going to blame this on my on going battle with my low blood sugar although this has been an issue. I have had good eating plans set, I just have had an appetite lately.
