View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Today I went shopping for the food I plan on making and freezing for the week I am resting up after my operation. I had to choose frozen meals that I could tolerate for my lunches since i will be one handed for 10 days. I settled on Kashi's frozen chicken entrees as well as some vegetarian meals from the health food section of the grocery store. I will try one Amy's pasta bowl. Unfortunately, I will have to eat some cheese products this week since so many frozen meals have dairy in them. I hope my stomach survives. I just couldn't tolerate all the other brand name frozen meals. They taste like rubber to me. I am making a beef stew (lean), chicken stuffed with spinach and soy cheese ( mozz. cheese for hubby ). Spaghetti/turkey sauce, and my plain yogurt-strawberry freezies. ( 2 oz. plain soy yogurt, 5 oz. strawberries cut up very small, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 tbs. slpenda powder. mix together and freeze. Thaw for 1 min. in micro. Stir and crunch with spoon to make slush...eat...yummy) Hubby said he will measure out my carrots and peppers for me and put them in baggies for me so I will have veggie snacks. So, I have one week covered. That means hubby is on his own for cooking duties the last week. He'll probably grill every night if the weather permits. I just may get lucky and be able to stay on my diet or close to it through it all. Tomorrow I won't be blogging since I'll be busy doing all of this. I'll try to blog Sunday.
Tonight my thought were on one thing. I would love to see my feet. I carry all my weight in abdomen. Thus when I look down I see fat. It's getting smaller by the day thankfully. Today when I looked down I could almost see my toes. Well, after I parted the ladies. I had to smile. Come on ladies. Don't tell me this is something some of you haven't though of. I also like being able to hold my husband closer to me and not have the big blob in the way. This brings tears to my eyes. I would say this is a great reward. I tell him his losing weight also makes this worth while too. Now, I don't know how I feel about all the excess skin that I see I'm going to have.

That's another problem, but I rather have it than fat. What got me to thinking about all this is when I was reading Ck's article on body image. I always felt fat even when I wasn't. I had a fat attitude. Now I feel skinny even though my body is still chubby. I will have to wait for my body to catch up.

Okay, you made me look!
=D Yes, after "parting the ladies" I can see my toes -- no feet yet, but toes! Sounds like you are doing great with that wonderful attitude and preplanning your food. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

You are so awesome! Getting all your food planned out for the first week of recovery! Woo-hoo! My "I can't wait until" is to weigh less than my husband.
:cross2: My husband is 5'8" and typically weighs 155-160. He's quite slim. I'm not sure if I can see my feet, but I'll definitely be checking after I'm done at the computer.

I LOVE your proactive attitude!!
:thumbu2: And yes, hugging hubby without a tummy between you will be a great reward. I think about that often myself. I'm hoping my husband will do something about his own weight and that he dreams of the same goal. Godspeed through your surgery. We'll see ya when you're home...even if you're just finger pecking smilies!
:wave1: Good Luck!
