Monday, Mar 10 2008 - two days before surgery
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
I have one day left before my hand surgery and I am worn out trying to get everything done that I have to get done. It's not like I'm going to Mars or anything or that my husband will be helpless around the house. The house won't even be clean since I can't do that with my bad back anyway. He'll have to do that anyway. I got the cooking done for a week, so he won't have to come home from work and do a lot of that for the first week while I'm a lump on the log.I won't be useless after about 7 days if it's like the carpel tunnel operations. I just can't get my hand wet for two weeks. No cleaning dishes for two weeks!!!!!

It also means taking a shower with something over my hand for two weeks and being careful doing other personal stuff. Hey how many of you can wipe your %@#$# with your non dominate hand? In the Far East you had better do that with your left hand even if you are a right hander. This lefty has been practicing all week since the operation will be on my dominate left hand. All right I am not totally left handed any way. I was screwed up as a kid. I write, eat, draw, bowl, golf, cook left...iron, use the chef knife, bat, throw, iron, and can even write with my right. Still when I hand carpel tunnel surgery two years ago I found out that I reach for everything with my left, stir with my left, open doors left handed, and even want to pick my nose left handed. ( Gross

something you didn't want to know !) This is turning out to be one of those blogs!!! You can tell what kind of mood I am in. All this to make this point. This is why I don't like hand surgery. It is totally inconvenient.
I didn't loose any weight this week, and I didn't get any exercise in either. My leg is all healed up now just in time for my hand to get worked on. I over did the treadmill and sprain a muscle a few weeks ago, but I'll be back...yee treadmill. You just wait.
Today I went and got my physical for my doctors release for the operation. This is my GP who hasn't seen me since December. She was amazed at my appearance. It's nice to finally get to that point where you look different and people are noticing, but why did it take 60 pounds! When you are on a diet you want it to show immediately. I kept asking my husband after losing 20 pounds, "can you see a difference yet ?" Kind of obnoxious like those kids in that move, " are we there yet? " Well, know he can answer truthfully and not get clobbered. OK, tomorrow is D-Day before surgery, I seem to be finding time to bog. If I find the time, I will, if not,see ya latter.

With all this preparation, you need to go and get that surgery if for no other reason than to get some rest! LOL Hope all goes well; I'll be thinking good thoughts.

It takes longer for people who see you every day to notice. Its always nice to get that reaction from someone who hasn't seen you in a long while. What is the surgery for exactly Lory? Sorry if I missed it!

Lory, you are like a pregnant lady getting ready before the baby comes. YOu are so smart for doing things ahead and will be glad for that later. If I can ask, what procedure are you having done to you? Is it a dupytren`s or a trigger release?Thank you for all of you messages and motivations on my blogs. I have not had the time to answer them all,but I read them. I am doing well and I am so glad to have a friend like you!I`ll say a prayer for you for surgery day.
