View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I had a good time with my daughter and future son in law. Aaron had just gotten back form a training conference in Utah that certified him to coach in the USAT, United States of America Triathlon. He is training athletes to participate in triathlons and other running events around the country. He is going to help me out by looking up and giving me more core exercises to add to the ones my PT gave me. I asked him if it was worth me getting an HRM right now because I have yet to get my heart rate up to 120 on the treadmill without going into an asthma attack. His opinion was to wait until I was in better shape and could get my heart rate up more, if I ever could without having asthma issues. So, for me, I'll wait until I get into better shape and it will make a difference. Right now a pedometer would be a better bet for calculating calories if that was my concern, but why bother at this point when the treadmills can give me a guess as to how many cals I am using up. Face it people, I am a long way off from being in good enough shape for any of this fancy equipment to help me out. I better use my money on custom shoes that fit....I just have to find them now...so my feet won't hurt when I walk, or a new water belt since a have lost weight and the old one now no longer fits.
We had a different Easter dinner. Grilled chicken in Theo sauce, quiuoa, grilled pineapple, grilled snow peas/bean sprouts/red peppers with olive oil in special spices, and fried okra for the guys. Everyone enjoyed the flavors as they blended well with each other. There are plenty of left overs to make quiuoa (?) salad for lunch.
Short blog for tonight. Dog finally ate something. Of course it was human food! He seems to feel better. I take him back to the vet in the morning to check out his temp. He was walking around today and snipping at us when he didn't want things that we were trying to give him. ( Water) He later took the water when I made him drink it.:angry1: Sometimes I wonder if he is not eating because he feels bad or is being picky:angry2: The other dog can't have any meat products due to allergies and is just going crazy with jealousy.I took her for a walk to make her happy:P
Well, good night. To all.

:hi: Lory! The gym is less than 5 minutes from my house -- too far to walk but just a short drive. I hated the elliptical at first because it kicked my butt! But we've made peace....and hopefully, there will be less of my butt to kick! I think it is great that your homeowners' assoc has a workout room!

Glad your dog ate something! That's excellent news! Even if he's not eating everything or drinking water the fact that he was willing to eat something shows progress. :smile1: Yay! People have been losing weight for years without fancy gadgets...I don't think you should buy anything unless you really want it.

Your meal sounds delicious! I have wondered about a heat rate monitor but I seem to be getting by using the treadmill info. I will need to keep pushing myself as I lose weight though. Great news about your dog! I had three dogs here this weekend, made for some wild times but I love dogs so I enjoyed it.

Good news about the dog! I have never had a heart rate monitor. I don't plan to get one at this point because I am trying to get away from the all-or-nothing thing that I tend to sink into. I think if I had a HRM, I would not exercise unless I could get my heart rate up into an appropriate range. I do love my pedometer. I don't wear it every day, but when I do it encourages me to walk just a bit more so that I can watch the steps add up.

Glad you got some food into your dog! I agree with SIL about the HRM - especially with asthma...every little bit of exercise you do is going to help, don't worry about your heart rate -- unless of course it gets to pounding too hard!
