Tuesday, Mar 25 2008 - Jello pie
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Here is a cool whip Jello desert that will please everyone in the family:
1 Graham Cracker Crust ( I use 50/50s Sugar Free Crust that can be found in the diabetic section in most grocery stores)
1 small pkg jello ( if using cherry yogurt, use cherry jello etc. )
2 8 oz containers sugar free yogurt ( can be fat free if you want )
1 8 oz Cool Whip Lite
1/3 Hot water ( I use boiled water that has been cooled down some )
Dissolve Jello in water. Let cool down. Then mix in yogurt, then cool whip. Spread into pie crust. Place lid on and put into frig to jell for a few hours. If you want the crust to be harder follow the directions on the package for a crispy crust and let cool before adding ingredients. You can top with extra cool whip, but this will add cals. Our favorites are Key Lime, Cherry, an Orange ( using orange jello and vanilla yogurt ) (Key lime= key lime yogurt + lime jello. ) ( If you are not worried about cals try a chocolate crust with lemon jello and lemon yogurt.)
I'm not going to figure out the nutritional data since there can be so many variations here depending on what products you use.

Yesterday I took dog to vet. We changed his antibotics.$$$$$$The treatment is a six week treatment using three different drugs! In the mean time, the vet told me to go ahead and let the dog eat chicken if that's the only thing he will eat, for now! She said after he gets better then we can start him back on dog food, but for now to give him anything he will eat. Boy, he's being more difficult than my son was when he got sick.

I've been trying to get my husband to look at his diet more closely without nagging him. I was hoping to get him to see where he could improve on his intake some since he wants to take it more slowly than me. Well last night we got into one of our diet conversations and I had the opportunity to show him about how much fat he was eating. He was able to shave off 100 calories at breakfast by switching from his butter spread to Smart Squeeze liquid on his cheese toast that he eats every morning.I figure he gets a lot fat on that cheese toast and really doesn't need to add any more fat to it. The liquid fat would do and the taste wouldn't change. Walla!!! It is just that simple. He also substituted two pieces of cheese toast for oatmeal. Now he is eating 200 calories less at breakfast. The engineer in my husband started to calculated how many pounds that was in a year and smiled. Men, gotta love em.
I have to go run some errand now, will blog more when I get back.
Hey, I was looking up some info on weight loss plateaus when I came across this web sight, " diet blog" at www.diet-blog.com. There was some interesting ideas there on how to break an actual plateau if you are in one. Check out the sight and look up the word plateau to read what they have to say on the zig zag method of getting your metabolism going along with a change in exercise. I'm not there yet. When ever I don't loose it's usually because I have not stayed on calories goals for the week or exercised off the extra cals I've eaten that week. My metabolism seems to be normal to moderate with the help of some synthroid medication I take now, but I've listened to a lot of you talk about your problems and thought that you would be interested. Tomorrow the stitches come out! Yea, a real shower awaits me Wed. night. Good night.

That dessert sounds so yummy! Good job on getting the husband to "think like a man." They always seem to do better at things when they think it was their idea, don't they?! Have a great day.
