View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I want to say a little pray today for BESS AND TESS who have come under trying times lately. Bess is sick and we haven't heard from her in a few days to know how she is doing. Tess had some flooding in her homestead and is also under taking a new diet regime. I want to wish both of these ladies whom have supported me the best as they under go their trials.
Also, Amy's sister joined Ck folks. Hi Amy's sister. Please forgive me forgetting your name if you ever come to my blog and read it. I will try to introduce myself someday to you. Oh, hi Amy:hi:
My dog is eating a little better. He is eating a little, very little. Mostly he lays around and just looks up at me with those mournful eyes of his. He does not like it when I have to put on the heat pack on his open sores. I guess I wouldn't either.
The past week I have had trouble staying on goal. I would have a perfect day until late at night. Then BOOM, I would get hungry after my evening snack and give in and have more food. I wouldn't eat more than 100 cals over my highest cal intake, but enough to mess me up. If I was getting some exercise this wouldn't be hurting me, but I haven't been able to get out of the house since surgery and having to take care of dog. NOw dog is better and the stitches are out, I can leave the house, but today I couldn't make it to the gym. I will do some stretching and core exercises today at home, but no big calorie busters. I think I have taken a subconscious min vacation from dieting this week. Sometimes this will help me concentrate and get back on track, but other times it means I am not buckling down. CK will say I need to set goals for myself. Ok, I do have a goal of being 155 for my girls wedding. That's 14 pounds by Aug. Well that would be doable if I don't take any more vacations from my diet. Ugh, I do get tired sometimes of always having to watch it. I like what Wrangler girl does when she takes a day off each week. I am seriously thinking I may have to do that. Does anyone else take a day off or go on a maintenance diet once a week?
Talk to you latter.

Lory, thank you for caring and for the prayers that have gone up for both myself and Bess. It's much appreciated! I'm fine & fnally cleaned up. It's Bess who really needs the prayers now. :heart1: I have to tell you after reading some of your comments, I think your homestead was where my family built a house! You mention streets, etc. - I grew up on Hillcrest (the west side) between Beltline and Spring Valley...they were all dirt roads at the time, 635 was a 2 lane blacktop and our house was the first in our development though there were several farms that were around when we very first built. You should see it now! :afraid4: It's amazing! Our home was brand new 45 years ago come June. Now days it's no longer considered the outskirts of Dallas, it's smack dab in the middle! I have since moved quite a bit south of that but still love that area!

Hope this finds you recovering nicely from surgery and don't worry too much about taking the "occasional vacation" from the diet. It's a "lifestyle" remember?:smile1: Perhaps a maintenance day once a week would help you through this period until you find yourself back into your old routine. :wave1:

We use to treat Sunday as a day of rest and I think more of us should get back to that concept. We all are on the go far too much. I hope you sit down with a nice cup of tea and a good book or whatever is relaxing and just let yourself unwind.

Lory, I usually relax on Saturdays (weigh in day) but not relax to the point where you have to make up an insurmountable amount of ground for the next 6 days --- because then you just stand still! You will totally make your goal by August. Think of your calorie intake like a checkbook and remember, its a lifestyle not a diet!

Thanks for blog comments, you have been such a positive influence. Glad to hear about dog getting better, hope you can get out and enjoy the Spring now. I understand what you are saying about always having to be on track, it takes a lot of effort and sometimes I get tired of it. I give myself a little off time on Friday nights, maybe eat a little differently, eat back some exercise calories, just relax with it a bit. If I relax too much I make sure Saturday is a buckle down day and I hate Saturdays to be a buckle down day!

I like the idea of taking a day off each week - sort of like scheduled bad behavior time! I don't know, a whole day is sort of a lot. What about one meal off? I like to take the 2nd part of Friday's off (after work, I indulge myself =D) but then sometimes it's really hard to get back with the program on Saturdays. You might try having a day off to see how successful you are. It does sound like you need some sort of change.

Lory, you are so thoughtful and considerate of others. It is really so admirable that I want to model my own self and my ability to give care and positive thoughts after you and how you live your life. You really are just so amazing.
