Wednesday, Apr 9 2008 - chicken soup and little dog

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I put another recipe in the forum yesterday called " Chicken Pasta and Kalamata olives for anyone to have a look up. Didn't really know where to post recipes so it's in the recipe section. It's good cold or hot. Today I learned it's easy to make vegetable chicken rice soup. You just measure out all your ingredients so you know what you are putting into it, then through it into chicken broth. `I like to use the Pacific Natural Foods broths or the Imagine Organic broths because they have no msg and taste good.
I bought some shorts on line that are a little tight thinking that this will help motivate me to keep losing. They are wearable. I have been so used to really loose clothes because everything I own is so big on me right now. It's hard to know if I should get clothes that fit perfectly, a little too tight, or what. Then I tried on an old bathing suit I had in my closet. I kept it there because in the back of my head I kept saying to myself one day I was going to be able to get back into it, Today I did! All of my other bathing suits are too big.
I decided now since I have finally made the big hump, I am now going to start saying I have 48 pounds to lose instead of I have lost 72. This way I can start the count down, or do you all think it's still too early to star counting down? I know some would prefer to keep adding up. Well, short blog today, I actually will take my walk in the gym today. I also take a little walk with little dog after dinner every night. She is enjoying that. She's been going around the house looking for Gambit and whining. I think it will stop in a few days. She's been following me around the house too, which is something she never did. I think maybe she's feeling a bit insecure right now.
Have a good day.

I'm so sorry that your doggie is missing Gambit.:cry2: I think counting down is a great idea. You've come so far! Keep up the great work!

:hi:Lory! I'm glad you and Little Dog have each other. :heart2: You know, fitting into my old clothes is one of the main reasons I am doing this! I think I have almost gone down a full size, so I do have 2 or 3 pairs of pants that now fit. Hmm...I guess I would say to just buy 1 -2 things that fit perfectly right now, to tide you over. It's wonderful that you have lost so much...it's a great problem to have!:queen:

The Chayote squash soup sounds good! My mom's neighbor (in Louisiana) grows them and shares them with her so I've had them. They always called them merlitons, rather than chayote but I guess that's the French influence in LA rather than the Mexican influence in TX.

Oh, that is so sad about the little dog:nono1: Congrats on the bathing suit, Lory! You've come so far and worked so hard! I think you can start counting down so long as you don't let the number ever overwhelm you. If it strts to sound like too much, go back to counting up. You could expperiment. I think only you will know what is right for you in terms of counting down/up. Hope you had a nice walk in the gym!

Thanks! I am having a small glass (about 3 ounces) of sauvignon blanc right now. It's delicious and I am savoring it! :tongue8: Hope you are having a better week this week, I've been thinking about you!

I have a black suede skirt in my closet that I refuse to give up even though it hasn't fit in 16 years. One day it will fit, just like your swim suit did today! :teeth1: I think you should choose whether to say "I have 48 to lose" or "I have lost 72" based on what makes you feel good and motivated to keep going. I would probably announce to everyone I met and buy a t-shirt that says "I have lost 42 pounds" =D When our older dog died at the end of February our young dog was melancholy for a few days too.

Ohhhh poor little dog. She's missing her friend, too. :cry2: I think I would prefer to stick with the "I've lost 72" and be proud of your success -- unless you say "I ONLY have 48 left to lose" -- and not "I still have 48 left to lose" see how the latter could be a little negative thinking? So proud of you for getting back into that old swim suit -- now you should go buy yourself a new one :clown1:
