View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
It's been a whole week since I lost Gambit now. Xena is settling in to her new routine with her playmate. She hasn't eaten well over the past few weeks since the big guy was sick. I've had good days and bad days. It's hardest at night when we all sit down to watch TV. Xena would get in Pat's lap and Gambit mine. I keep putting pillows where he once lay.
I have a web sight where I get some clothes that are perfect during this time of losing weight. They are priced economically and are good for down sizing. Check out, www.womanwithin.com. I get a lot of my Polo shirts and shorts from the sight because they are cheap.
Today's food thoughts are centered around making meals for the weekend. I don't like to cook on Sunday, so I prepare food for it on Sat. or today. I'll make that Chicken and pasta dish along with a Turkey loaf for the weekend. I have plenty of frozen dishes that I made up for lunches. ( turkey burgers, soup etc. ) I actually like pre planning the weekend so there is not much cooking going on if I can help it. Pat also pitches in a lot. He got use to helping out in the kitchen during the time my back and shoulders wouldn't let me cook at all. He's pretty handy now in the kitchen on some basics. He now helps me clean up which I wish he would have done when we were younger. Too bad it took me getting handicap to get him in the kitchen. Girls, convince your partners it is togetherness to work in the kitchen at night. Pat now says he doesn't mind and likes being with me, except when he's dead tired. I have enjoyed kitchen work a lot more since he has shared it with me even though I am the main cook. This weekend I'm letting him off kp while he gets his car ready for a car show though.
Have a good weekend.

I love that part about convincing your partners that it is togetherness to work in the kitchen. Sounds like you're gonna set yourself up for another great week with all this planning and cooking you're going to do today. Have a great one, Lory!

Hi Lori,
I'm so sorry you have to go through missing Gambit. It will get easier. Glad to hear you've got your man trained! My two sons aren't trained yet, but every now and again they will pitch in. I've gotten so I don't like to cook at all, although I really like your idea of making everything on Saturday. Maybe I'll try that tomorrow... Where do you get your recipes (here at CK?). I'm still searching for a good recipe book. You take it easy this weekend. Best wishes, Cheryl

Eat, Pray, Love is about a woman who goes through a very bitter divorce and decides to travel through three countries over the course of one year to help her get closer in touch with herself and with her faith. She travels to Italy to learn the languages and enjoy the food, to India to spend time in an Ashram to study the teachings of a Yoga guru and to Indonesia to live with a medicine man (I think? I am not at that part yet!). I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but it has really drawn me in...especially the section about Italy (I
:heart2: Italy and everything to do with it...I took 5 semesters of Italian in college!). It's one of those books that people seem to either love or hate, no in betweens. Hope that "whets your appetite!"

I've started helping my husband in the yard and have appreciated the conversation and togetherness. I'll work on getting him in the kitchen next. The funny thing is that he used to cook for me a lot before we got married. Now the only time he does is when we grill...and right now our grill is broken. Got to get that fixed!
:smile1: Have a good weekend!

Brad doesn't like to help out in the kitchen, but I think once we get into our new place, with its big open concept, he'll be in there with me more!
:wink3: Have a great weekend!
