Today will forever be a memorable day for me. It started out like the day I had some thirty five years ago. Peaceful beautiful skies, perfect temperatures, clear air, and birds singing songs of praise in the early morning. Yep, it was going to be a glorious day because today was just like the day thirty five years ago this Jewish girl committed her life to Christ. I won't go into all the details of the whys, the what happens, and what has happen since, but to say I never have regretted it. I do believe I get my strength to stay on my diet and have accomplish what I have because of this commitment thirty five years ago. You can't talk to me without me saying something about how much I have grown spiritually during this weight loss journey. My spiritual journey has been a part of it. I've tried to keep the two separate for the sake of those who don't share my faith, but sometimes it just squeaks out. Sorry guys. It's so very hard for me not to burst open and shout it from the mountain tops what the Lord means to me. I'll try to refrain myself, but if I can't, just forgive me or go to another blog. Today though, I had to indulge myself since it's my spiritual birthday.
I had a good food day especially since I was eating on the run all day. I had shopping to do. Yucky mall shopping. Bathing suit shopping to be exact. The one I have is old and I needed another. I do not like shopping for bathing suits. Alas, it wasn't so bad as I found I can now fit into normal bathing suit sizes in regular department stores.:laugh5: YIPEE. I also treated myself to something I have been collecting. Well, I keep asking for these every Christmas and for my birthday and so far haven't gotten any. Today at Dillard I saw that they are carrying them. They are the Trail of Paint Ponies Collection. I first saw them when I visited my brother in Colorado. These are replicas of the statues in Santa Fe of the Mustang Ponies painted by various artist. They are beautiful. To see all the ponies go to :
www.trailofpaintedponies.com
I have picture of one of the ones that was on sale today. I picked up the ponies that were on sale as a reward for losing weight. I decided when I lose another 20 pounds I will order Happy Trails Horse since I am a Trigger fan. Yea, I finally found something to reward myself with. The horse you see is one my husband likes because he is a car man. It is called Horsepower To Burn by Rich Mattson.
I talked to Bess a little while ago. She of course is making the best of it. I am amazed at her strength even though she doesn't think she has any. My thoughts and prayers are for her and her family tonight as they adjust to not having Syd around. I know it will be very lonely in the house for a long time. So, on this day, may we all remember her and say a prayer for her.
Have a nice evening.

I think the journey of weight loss would be very difficult with a spiritual base to hold you when things seem impossible. Come to think of it....LIFE would be difficult without it! :angel4:

Happy Spiritual Birthday, Lory. I think you should not ever try to keep your faith quiet if you feel like shouting it loudly - especially on your blog. I think it is so wonderful that you have such a strong relationship with Christ and that you have developed this relationship and devleoped yoru faith as you've gone through the welght loss journey. That is really something special and something that I really admire. I'm glad you had a great food day despite having to eat on the go.

Don't be afraid to share your faith, it will be an example for others to follow. I love the horse!!!! What a great reward idea. About my hair, I went through about 4 months of grow out time from bad hair coloring and then cut my hair really short, just the ends were colored by then. Within two haircuts I was completely silver!! A few years later I put some dark brown highlights in to go for a salt & pepper look but it never looked like I wanted it to so I quit that too. My hair has always been the white silver color, not really gray, I use a shampoo for gray hair to keep the dingies from showing up.
