View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
It's nice to get up in the morning and feel refreshed and happy. today I don't really have any particular reason for this feeling except to say I am within 33 t0 43 pounds to goal depending on which goal weight I choose. That may sound like a lot to some who are seeking to lose that much to begin with. For me that seems like peanuts compared to what i have already shed. I'm looking at 6-9 months more of the grueling lower cal part of the diet before I can move up to a few hundred more calories to maintenance. I know I'm only going to get a few hundred more calories when I go on maintenance, but to me that sounds like a thousand. Anyway, I can almost see that light at the end of the tunnel and it has given me a second wind so to speak. Gone is that lack of motivation I experience a few weeks ago.Oh, I've stumbled a few times already on this last leg, but I expect I'll have a few of those here and there.
Last night I talked to my neighbor who has gained a lot of weight over the past three years. She wants to lose some of it. When we moved into the neighborhood she was a pretty thin good looking woman. Then her husband and her opened a restaurant and she started packing on the pounds. Now, she feels totally out of control. When she saw me last night, she was amazed at how three weeks had gone by and I had changed in appearance. She wanted to know how I did it. I just love those open questions. I'm going to help her get started. Lately, her kids and I have been walking our dogs together and I have been sharing with them about good eating snacks too. I gave them some of my fruit freezies. They loved them. We compared them to the commercial one they bought at the store. Brand name being with held. Theirs had 180 cals, used pureed pear concentrate and fruit flavoring, corn syrup, plus a bunch of additives... mine had real strawberries, plain soy yogurt, real vanilla extract, and splenda, for 80 calories. There's had 47 carbs and mine 13 carbs. Theirs tasted like frozen baby food, mine tasted like a frozen smoothie which in reality is what it is. The kids loved it. Wait until they taste the fresh mango ones I made last night! Real food always taste better than processed food! My neighbor wants my recipes.
I went to buy some pants for a wedding and found out I now can no longer buy clothes in Catherines and Lane Byrant!!!! I now must go shop in the regular department stores!!!! Gee, I'm actually excited about this and I am not one to like shopping for clothes. I do know I will change pant sizes a few more times, but shirt sizes, I'm not so sure about. 30- 40 pounds might bring me down one more size. Now this is going to be fun.I"m going to take my daughter up next spring when I finally hit goal. She promised to take me out for a make over!
Well everyone, have a nice weekend.
The picture is a of a bench on the walking trail by that creek that Xena and I walked a few days ago. Our subdivision likes to decorate the walking trails. I think this is the prettiest of the benches. The one by my house is just a plain bench. My trail is plain, but there are plans to do something to it. Some beautification project I hope. Maybe it will look like this.

You are such a teacher to all. Your neighbor I'm sure really appreciates you being willing to be a health mentor for her. Setting an example will help you stay on track too, I'm sure. You've made fantastic progress and I know you'll succed all the way to goal ---- and stay there!

A regular size department???? YIPEEEE!!!!! That is definitely one of my goals!! I think your daughters wedding will be a happy time so maybe food won't be the issue as much for you. You always have a plan so I know you will be OK.

I love hearing your enthusiasm for doing this. It gets me enthusiastic too! What a great role model you are for your neighbors--adults and kids!

I loved reading this blog. So inspirational and your attitude is just great. Your neighbor is lucky to have someone like you living so near and so are her children. About those smoothies, maybe you ought to publish a cookbook? I envy you living so near a walking trial. We do have one behind us that is part of a school but it's small. I probably need to get out there anyway just to see the wild flowers and deer. Thanks for publishing on my blog. I'll watch those 500 overages and try not to do it more than once a week. Best wishes, Cheryl51

I need to come back and read your blog but I wanted to say that that was my favorite part of Grey's last night. My husband actually came to see what I was laughing outloud at -- Derek in the elevator with all the women -- and then Mark, and his face when he says "I bet you're wishing that you took the stairs about now"
