Yesterday was extra busy. I started off the morning with an early morning walk with Xena and the neighbor's dog Maya. Maya had gotten out and I caught her. When I went to take her home I asked the neighbors if she could join us on our walk. She had been walking with us from time to time when their younger kids would join me on my walks in the evening. They were happy for me to take her. It wasn't that long ago when I couldn't walk and I had paid their oldest to walk Gambit and Xena.

So, I felt like the circle had finally come fully around now. We went to the new walking trail I had been shown by another neighbor. Only did part of it since I am only doing a mile. The actually trail is 1.5 miles one way and is a sender track for over a mile. I stayed on the concrete part of the trail which is by the creek and trees. Then circled around and went home. That is about a mile. We're good for that part. By 9am it was getting hot here the Houston area and not good walking weather, so I'm glad I got up early to do my walk.
Then I went shopping for a wedding gift and also found what I'm going to wear for my daughter's wedding. OK, she didn't like what I had picked out before, so I had to find something else. First she said it was going to be a casual wedding, so I though she meant casual. I didn't know she meant she wanted in satin or a pant suit. Ok, no satin shirt, but I found a pant suit in the navy which is color and red which is my husband's favorite color. It will be bright but smart looking.
Food wise, this week was a disaster in my thinking even though I ate normally most of the time. I had those lows and over eating episodes which led to a no weight loss week.

I know I'm going to have weeks like this, but I sure didn't want one this week.

Ugh, and I have to go out of town this week end to a wedding and face wedding food. I already know what they are going to serve and have made my plans on what I'm going to eat that night. In fact I have already planned my eating for that day and am getting food ready for the drive down as I write this. I am going to attempt to cook something and freeze it so there will be something in the freezer so when we get home Sunday night we will have dinner for us. That is what is planned, but that is not what may happen. We still may get stuck eating out Sunday night too. This weekend will be a test for the week that I will be gone for my daughter's wedding. So, I call it my test weekend. I actually read the Beck chapter on traveling. I know I skipped ahead, but I was desperate to know how to handle traveling. She gave some good pointers. It's really how you handle the extra calories you know you are going to face when you travel and getting back on program when you get back home. These are the keys to traveling. She also suggest stopping off at a grocery store and buying familiar snacks. This weekend I'll be tacking my snacks. When I go up to Detroit I was planning on going to a grocery store and getting some snacks and bring some baggies with me to put them into. So, I was glad when she said to do this. As a diabetic we had been told to do this. Beck suggest people who want to eat healthy do this too.
I now have my husband turning off the TV and eating dinner in peace. We are having quiet dinners and slowing our pace while we eat. It is much more enjoyable. OK, once in a while he still likes to watch a TV show he wants to catch up on, but I have been working on him. We never had the TV on during dinner when the kids were home. That was a big no no. It;s only been recently as he has gotten home and was too tired to stay up late and watch his favorite shows. He thought he would catch up on them while eating dinner since our kitchen faces the TV.

Eating without distractions is hard, but it does has its rewards. I don't gobble my food down and enjoy it more.
THat's all the time I have for now. I will get to everyone's blog later on tonight.

You know you are going to have to take those clothes back because they won't fit in August!!!
:laugh5: You have been doing so great, don't worry about one week with no loss. One thing I have learned with all my weekend travels is to take fruit or buy it when you get there. Restaurants don't serve it, most motels don't have fruit on the breakfast anymore, and relatives only keep enough on hand for their needs. I would look forward to the end of the day when I would sit on my bed and munch a big crisp apple.

Eating slowly is definitely a good thing. Good for you for getting a plan for the weekend -- planning is half the battle for sure! Don't sweat the no loss and think positive that you didn't gain!

Wow you were busy yesterday! I think your plan for this weekend sounds good--you'll be able to stay on track, especially if you get that dinner for Sunday cooked and frozen.
:thumbu2: Brad and I have just started eating without the TV on too, so we can talk about our days and enjoy our food--it's so nice!
=D (But, we put the tv on if there's a Brewer game...can't miss the chance to watch the Brew Crew!
:wink3: )
