View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I got back from my trip in one piece and not a pound heavier.=D I did well with food while I was gone and had a few laughs along the way. We took our breakfast and lunch for the trip down plus veggie snacks for both traveling days. For lunch we ate sandwiches, salad, fruit freezes, and veggies at a Texas rest area. That afternoon on our way to the wedding we stopped at the big Mac for a potty break and did not get ANYTHING! In years past at every stop we would have come away with some sort of snack.:cross3: An hour later I got out my Ck calorie book to look up some food for that night when my hubby ask me if I was looking up the McDonalds Hot Fudge Sunday. I grinned. We looked at each and knew what the other was thinking instantly. Before I could get the words out he spurted out, " I really wanted one of those ! It took all of my self control not to get one." I replied, " Yea, and if you had even mentioned it I would have been a goner because I would have given in because I wanted one too. " So, we looked them up, all 350 calories of them. Hey, we finally figured out we could have split a yogurt parfait, but with the calories that awaited us that night it was best that we past up the treat. Still, it was worth a good laugh. The wedding was at 5 so I ate some veggies at three and hoped my blood sugar would be ok, but I did bring with me some sweettarts just in case. That was a good idea because all day long my blood sugar was running low since my pump was still being adjusted a little each day. It takes several days and even weeks before you reach that magic ratio of numbers that get your blood glucose in the right range. Mine is still not there. So, Saturday was a killer for lows and by 5 I was having some trouble. During the ceremony I had to sneak and eat some candy. As usual, these things can get delayed and we didn't even get to the appetizers until 8 ! I did well even then to just eat veggies and some fruit. Ah another hour and dinner finally. I chose flour tortillas, 2, broccoli, asparagus, chicken fijita meat ( kinda), what really looked more like taco meat, and a little Greek salad minus the dressing. No cake. We stayed for a long time. Back at the motel my blood sugar nose dived again and I decided to adjust my pump myself again THE THREE DAYS THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO BETWEEN ADJUSTMENTS. I had had enough of the lows. This time I went down more than I usually do. So far so good. I had some turkey jerky to stabilize my blood sugar and that finally worked. So, I actually did well eating wise if it had not been for the low blood sugar problems which I think caused me to eat more than I had planned. I couldn't help that, but I didn't over eat when faced with low blood sugar either. That was a victory too. I even stabilized it too as ordered by my nutritionist.=D Like Dr. Beck said, give yourself credit when you do something right even when it comes when you do something wrong. Well, over all, my husband and I did more right things this weekend food wise than wrong. I think our scale will show it. We helped each other fend off bad eating through out the weekend. Test one of traveling accomplished. It will get harder when we actually have to fly and go out of the state in August. That will be harder because we will be eating out for all our meals. I know weight control will be harder then.
My friends and I didn't get to spend much time talking and catching up with each other at the wedding. I did get to talk to their other kids some. They all noticed I looked healthier. Gee, I wonder why ? Some didn't realize I needed to lose that much weight. They knew I had gotten round, but 120 pounds even floored their eldest. They are big health conscious eaters so were happy to finally see that Lory had gotten on the band wagon.=D
P, got me a Nikkon 40 for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Now I don't have to take pictures with my camera phone. My old camera was older than me and used real film which they no longer make. Now, I will save up and take a camera class. Then save up for some good lenses. In a few years, when I have learned how to do all the new digital stuff and get out of debt, then I can upgrade. FSIL is going to help me get started. I think I am going to like my hobby. It will help me with my drawing too. I plan on taking my camera on a few walks too so I can get a picture of that bunny I have been talking about. Maybe some squirrels too. Hey, maybe I'll get a picture of one of Seinna's alligators to show you. Yea, my sub division has those too. Most of them are babies. We do have a big one, but if they become a problem, they can get removed. If not, they let them stay and tell everyone who moves in where they are. I've only seen one who came up to my neighbors house after a heavy rain one day. They homeowners ass. went chasing after that one because they don't like rogue gaters that will get out of their habitats. This one never came back and we have never seen it again. For a long time before I moved to the Houston area, I never realized Texas had gators. I always for some reason thought of them in Florida and Louisiana. Dope, city girl here!
That's all for this Memorial Day. Got to go figure out the new camera. It will be a while before I have the computer software to put the pictures into the computer. FSIL is getting me a real nice photo shop to work with. I will have to learn that too. The photo shop I have only takes out red eye and does nothing else.

You two are so cute! I love how you are keeping each other honest. That is great. SO cool how your Mom supports you -- my Mom is mostly supportive, really, but sometimes she speaks without thinking. Plus, in typical Mom fashion, she looks at me and doesn't think I have any weight to lose -- so your practice weekend went great! Yay for new cameras!
