Wednesday, May 28 2008 - final surgery, I hope

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

Tomorrow I have my SI-Joint nerve burn and I hope these will be the last of my back ops for a while. as you can see, I have to go through quite a lot of these in a years time every so many years in order to function. I'm hoping these will last me foe the rest of the year. My middle back is still hurting and causing me pain, so I'm not so positive for now.Tomorrow will be the last one for the next few months anyway.
My body is beginning to look different now in the shoulders and arms. I even went down in bra size again. ( From a 44 to a 42). It was the fat around the body and not the boobs so my hubby didn't care. Sorry if any guy reads this.:$ some men actually care about how much their wives will lose up there when they are losing weight. No problem here, there will be plenty left over I'm afraid.:$.I lost my tape measure, it's some where around the house, but my pants are getting loser. So, I must be getting smaller as well as losing weight. I wondered when I was finally going to feel like I was losing weight. I know there is a difference here. Well, it has happened. I finally feel like I'm losing weight and not as fat as I once was. When I first started out I just had the scale to look out to tell me I was losing weight. I knew I was losing because the scale told me I was. Slowly, I could see a little difference but not enough to make me feel like I was getting anywhere. Sometimes I would get discouraged and just have to go on faith that some day I would get there. Today I feel like I will get there. I can sense it now, like a dog catching a scent. It's a good feeling.
I enjoyed eating my chicken sandwich today on Ezekiel bread because I put some of Cedar's Roast Red Pepper Hummus on it instead of mustard. It was quite good. I know that it still had fat in it, but at least there was nutrition in it and I had to get some fat into my diet since I eat a very low fat diet. Try it sometime. It makes for a good way to eat Hummus.
I also ordered some of Walden Farms salad packets for traveling. They are pretty good. I got the Thousand Island and Dijon Honey packets. The flavor is pretty good for no cals and no carbs. Granted it they are chemicals and not natural, but still not bad. I don't get headaches from using them which is what I would expect.
Much to do today. Must catch up on blog reading now.

p.s. I was just looking at your before and after photos and I cannot believe how good you look. Really, I mean it. I was just thinking about how much of a role model you are. Keep up the great work- you are such an inspiration!

Chicken and hummus on Ezekiel bread sounds great! I'm going to try that! I hope your nerve burn goes well again. Were you in an accident or had some sort of injury that caused all this pain you deal with? You're so brave to keep up such a positive attitude while dealing with daily pain. I've had periods of time in my life when I had daily pain (luckily exercise to gain flexibility and strength and lose weight have helped) but it was hard to put on a smile in those times.

thank you for the info on the ab muscles. I'm sure this is why I had so much pain the first week I tried to do some work on the abs!

That is a great suggestion and you are right on target about having healthy fats in your diet! Sorry for all your back troubles. I hope that you will have to do this less when you get the weight off. I am so glad you are finally feeling the physical results -- it is easy for us to see in the photos, but for you to finally feel it is priceless!
