View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

It was a good day today. My weight loss was very little if any at all this week, maybe a half pound at the most. The biggest gain was that i was able to increase my exercise time to 45 minutes on the treadmill three days a week from 30 minutes three days a week. The goal now is to work up to four days a week or one hour, then go faster. Maybe by the end of the year I will be burning more calories. I can not be sure of anything since I have nerve damage to contend with on a daily basis, but I am slowly getting there. Today, I felt a lot of pain until I stretched out a lot. Then the pain gradually eased up as I got into the walk. This sometimes is to be expected when you have what I have. That's why the doctors told me to either rest the next day or go to the pool the next day. Unfortunately, my water jogging vest is now too big for me and I need to buy a new one. The one I use cost a 100.00. Ouch, it will have to wait as I don't have the cash this close to the wedding to buy a new one now. I can do other exercises in the pool though. So, tomorrow, i will just walk and do other things in the water.
I talk to my doctor brother who clarified his view of my weight loss to me today. When he last talked to me, he expressed that 150 pounds was a good weight for me. What he meant to say was, that was probably the weight in which my body would probably slow down at and maybe peak at due to all my medical conditions. Ok, now that makes since and I think he's nailed it. My weight loss has slowed and it is getting harder to lose now. I won't say that I am plateauing yet because I didn't have a great diet week, but it sure feels like I am having a tough time of it lately. There seems to be no forgiveness in small mistakes now. I have even cut down on my calories and yet my weight loss has whittle down very slowly. Bro mentioned my body will slowly reach it's own natural point where it will feel comfortable or it will now keep losing at a much slower rate. The question I have is do I cut down on calories now more than I have to keep my metabolism moving. I've increased my exercise and I have reduced my calories this week by 50 for this reason. Any thoughts. Did I do the right thing, or is this the wrong thing to do ? I really don't like eating 1258 calories, but even CK suggested this amount a long time ago and I never went there. I finally decided to go there now. So, I started out at 1330 calories when I first started my diet, then went to 1282 a few months ago, and this week went down to 1258 like CK had me down originally. Now I am at the bottom of my cal count for weight loss unless I go to the bare bottom.
Here's a funny before I go. Last night must have been a full moon because at three o'clock in the morning our resident Mockingbird started singing and chirping. I woke up and apparently mumbled in my have awakened state to my husband, "can't that bird tell it's baby's the difference hunger, desire, and nighttime cravings ! Tell them to shut Bird! I had no idea it was the male marking it's territory with it's song, I thought it was the little ones begging for their food at 3 am in the morning !!! Latter, in the morning my hubby informed me it was the male who thought it was morning since he does this every morning, I just never notice. Well I did last night ! Apparently, I was dreaming of the last chapter I read in the Beck book too.:$
See ya tomorrow.

From previous experience I found that my weight loss slowed as I got closer but it didn't stop. So if you are content with losing ounces every week you could leave your calories the same. I lost a pound a month when I was near my goal (why or why, did I gain it back???).

Hi Lory: I'm wondering what constitutes a plateau myself. I've been stuck near the same 3-pound neighborhood for about three weeks. But your Bro is right - weight loss does slow as we get closer to our goal weight. I think you're handling it well. Dropping the calories a little bit while upping your activity a little bit to see how you respond. But one week may be too soon to tell. Perhaps by next week you're body will tell you if this is too extreme. I start vacation next week. I've decided not to make any changes, just to live with my pleateau, until I'm back in the routine of work. Best to you. -Otter

You're quoting Dr Beck in your sleep? That's hilarious! I'm sure she'd be pleased to know you are taking her advice fully to heart! haha!

Good questions. Sorry I don't have any answers - I'm in the same boat. I'm at 1230 a day for calories and consistantly meet my goal, but I yo-yo between 4 lbs. I will say my measurements are changing and tht's the only thing that keeps my spirits high. I'm working on visualizing my body as I'd like to see it. :laugh5:

Hi, Lory. About the photos. Go to photobucket.com and set up an account. There they make it really easy to upload photos to your CK blog. You add the photo, following their instructions. When you add the photo, you will see some text under it. Where it says "IMG code", you click on it and the text is copied. You then paste this into your blog. Then your photo will show up in your blog. Send me an email if you need help with it.
