View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I'll be taking a shower tonight, a hot shower that is. Our water heater got fixed this afternoon and I for one do appreciate hot running water. We managed to survived the ordeal. Now to get the good computer screen fixed and I'll be happy. I have been spoiled working on the new screen, this old one is not as clear and bright and hurts my eyes.
It has come to my attention that all of the habits I think I had broken are some still lurking in the back of my brain just oozing to come back and make themselves a pest again. Just last night I woke to a bad case of the munchies. I ate 6 crackers with a teaspoon of baba ghanouji. Grant it was a little bitty snack, it still was getting up and eating something which could lead back to a bad habit. I took the food and made it into aa early morning snack which I hated doing but it was necessary. I thought to myself that old habits are creeping back lately which means I will need to be on guard and start asking myself whys. Right now I don't have a reason for these little ugly old habits popping up except that I'm human and that they are not completely defeated.
I was able to grab a small walk today around the block while waiting for the repair crew, but the next three days I won't be able to exercise as I will be preparing and having a medical test done on me. You know, that colonoscopy that has been getting delayed every time I have been suppose to have it. First I had to change the date, then the doctor changed the date, now I finally get to have it. Well, my hubby called and asked if I would change the date again.:bang: I said no, this would be agony to put this off one more time. So Wednesday it is. That means I will have a chance to fast on Tuesday. So, I'll do my Beck assignment on fasting on Tuesday since being a diabetic would take me out of this assignment under normal circumstances. For those reading the book, the assignment is under " Hunger tolerance". I'm going to get my hunger tolerance come Tuesday.
One thing I have already learned from having so many medical procedures. If I can survive 10-12 hours without eating, I can survive between meals without eating, or after dinner between dinner and breakfast the next day. Then it becomes a matter of self control to do so. This thought as well as experience has helped me overcome night time eating even though I had that occasional lapse. Since I experienced all these medical procedures this spring, I have had more success at not eating past my snack time. Even if you don't have Beck's book, try going without lunch one day and prove to yourself you can survive without food for a few hours. Then pretend you are having surgery the next morning and can't eat till the next day after dinner so no food can pass your lips till the morning. You would be surprised what you can train your body to do. My body is getting used to not eating at night now.
That's all for now.

Woohoo for hot water! =D Good tip about training your body to go without food--I will have to try that sometime (but probably after training, because I need food for energy now!)

Isn't it amazing how the habits keep lurking? Glad you are getting your colonoscopy, I figure I will be getting one after my next check up. All these tests are for our own good but they are never any fun!!!:sad2:

I have assisted with colonoscopy`s, they are very effective and I am so glad you are going for one. The prep is actually the worst part of the procedure. If anything is found there are so many things that can be done endoscopically to take care of it right there. Thank you for the comments tonight, they made me smile!!!

Ahhhh, hot water! Enjoy! Ewww, colonscopy! Grin and bare it - it's a necessary evil! :laugh5: I think it's great you're veiwing everything as lessons to be learned. I would like to correct one thing, you said "old habits". The truth is that you no longer have those habits for a habit is something you do frequently and regularly. Those are just old memories surfacing from a past life. Recognize them for what they are, know that they no longer have any power over you and move on .
