View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Today I had a great food day and have not felt hungry at all. I went back to my old format of 1300 calories and plenty of protein after Nadine caught me and reminded me that I was skimping on my protein. This is what has worked for me in the past and I am going to stick to it. I will use exercise to knock down the calories count by 100-150. This is how I plan on getting those calories down. I must get strong enough to be able to exercise daily as well as get more consistent about going to the gym daily.
I had a good work out with the PT today as she gave me my first weight machine exercises. I hurt a little afterwards. It is hard to know if the pain is due to muscle weakness or nerve problems at this point. With me it can be both, so I will take the lightest weight and be very careful at all times. I was SO excited to get to use the AB and AD ductor machine though. She had me going 1.5 speed on the treadmill which was so slow to me I was tripping over my shoe laces ! Then I got some E-band exercises which are challenging because I still have shoulder problems.
Afterwards I had to do some shopping at Whole Foods so I ate my lunch there. I took my portable scale an analyzed their turkey spinach wrap. They don't put much meat in those things ! Anyway, I think I can make a better one. So I set out to find the ingredients. I found that Cedars makes Spinach Wraps at 180 calories per wrap. I would use Hummus instead of cream cheese. 2-3 oz of Turkey instead of 1.5 oz. Then add all the veggies. I'm going to make one of these for the dog show on Friday and Saturday. Add an apple and walla, got myself a healthy lunch.
Oh, we put our money down on the daughters wedding today.

Broke we are now! Can you believe the groom's family is paying more than we are! They wanted a fancier wedding that went beyond our budget. So the deal was if they wanted to pay for it, ok. As it is, if the kids had stayed in Texas the wedding would not have been as fancy. My husband and my family don't go for all this fancy stuff for weddings. It seems to be a difference between the North and the South in what people do at weddings and what they grew up with. I didn't grow up with wedding dinners only receptions with cake and refreshments. His family grew up with sit down dinners. It seems now days everyone is having those sit down dinners or some kind of buffets. Hum, Ok, I grew up in a different era, but we told our daughter we had a budget , but FSIL wanted a grander wedding, so he went to his parents and the next thing I know they are paying out mega bucks for this very elaborate wedding. What can I say ? My hubby just shrugged and said, as long as they know what our share will be and are content with it. It just feels a little strange.
Good night to all.

Wow, that's so interesting about the difference in wedding experiences! You're right, it probably is a north-south thing...I have never been to a wedding where there WASN'T a sit-down or buffet dinner--I think it would be weird for me to go to one that didn't have that! Either way, the day is about celebrating their love for each other so I'm sure you'll have a grand old time!
=D Your homemade wrap sounds yummy, too.

Yay for not being hungry! As for the wedding, they have a way of transforming into big huge deals don't they? My SIL's was supposed to be immediate family, backyard on the beach, and it turned into 150 people.....craziness!

I make my wraps using the laughing cow cheese and sometimes hummis. It always seems like such a substantial sandwich with not much calories because you can add lettuce, etc. to "bulk it up".
:) We always have sit down dinners at weddings up here (north).
