Tuesday, Jul 22 2008 - This one is for Nadine
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Thanks to all who encouraged me yesterday for getting off insulin. My doctor told me that at some point I could be back on it as my body gets older, or if the pills don't work. He mentioned very few patients even get to my level or get to try what I am about to do today. I am staring on the smallest dose of this medication so if this does not work, we can go up in dose before we give up. It will be very important now that I don't over eat or get into those marshmallows.

I guess now I have something to really motivate me now.
Nadine, you always believed I could get my weight down for the wedding. Well, I got up this morning and weighed 151 !!!!! One week to go and I am just one pound off. I plateaued, over ate, gave up hope, stressed out, but you kept encouraging me to not give up and keep on program. THANK YOU. Everyone, let this be a lesson, perseverance and dedication is what gets us to where we want to be. I know I am going to have to be MORE diligent in many areas to accomplish my new goals. I will have to keep the faith when times get tough and I don't see the results and I get tired. I know the path will be long, but the rewards great. I know the temptations will be great and come from people who don't mean any harm to me. I will be kind and keep humor and a smile on my face when things don't go as planned. I know all this, because I know the impossible is now possible. I have faith in my self, but more important I know I have friends who are helping me. I also know I have a Lord who is given me an inner peace that has soothed my soul and given a peace which has let me know that things will work out in the end. I am ready for my next challenges which I know I will face. Thank you all for your support.
See ya latter.

Congratulations Lory!!!! I am so happy for you. You deserve this because you have worked so unbelievably hard. Your preseverance & dedication is what motives me. I was so excited to hear about you going off of insulin. I told my husband and I saw something in his eyes. I think it was hope. Hope that one day his father will be able to follow in your path. You've touched my life (and my hubby's) in a way that you'll never know. Congratulations!

Congratulations, Moughi!! My son has had type 1 diabetes for 6 years now, so insulin administration and blood glucose levels are a routine part of our lives. Its a complete PIA, so I can appreciate how happy you must be. Best wishes!

Thank you so much for your comments on my blog. I have decided to start logging again and will take the time to preplan my meals (as much as possible) each day. I even printed your comments to keep in my logbook, so I can refer to it for motivation! Try to keep in your mind that those marshmallows cannot taste good enough to go back on the insulin! Have a great day!

WOW!
:rock1: Whoo Hoo! This is what CK is about. It's the journey NOT the destination where we grow and pick-up friends. You are so going to rock that wedding. I'm honored to have both you and Nadine as part of my journey.
